Tommi Hakala is a Finnish operatic baritone born on August 9, 1970 in Riihimäki. Hakala achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by opera and winning the BBC Singer of the World Competition in Cardiff in 2003. He achieved professional recognition for a career that began after he studied at the Sibelius Academy and the Karlsruhe University of Music. Hakala achieved professional recognition for winning the Merikanto singing competition in 2001. His musical career included being a member of the ensemble of the Nuremberg Opera between 1998 and 2001 and the Leipzig Opera between 2001 and 2004. Hakala achieved professional recognition for performing as a guest artist at the Metropolitan Opera, the San Francisco Opera, and the Semperoper Dresden.
