Ensemble Ô

The Ensemble Ô is a group of four to eight versatile singers brought together by Laetitia Corcelle over several years. Performing the classical vocal repertoire without barriers of style or century, they have given some 80 concerts together in magnificent venues such as the Via Aeterna Festival, the Saintes Festival, the Flâneries Festival in Reims, the festivals of Gstaad, Agde, Comminges, Perpignan, Rocamadour, the Sacrées Journées in Strasbourg, Sacrée Musique in the Var and Lyon, Toulouse Les Orgues, etc.

The opening of many vocal works, the "Ô" alone evokes contemplation and wonder: it speaks volumes about the spirit that informs the ensemble's programs. With its circumflex accent, Ô is clearly a French word: it underlines that the ensemble's musical team has been built on strong pillars, notably its choice to transmit the French choral repertoire, with a predilection for the works of Poulenc.
Finally, the sound Ô simply evokes water, that vital fluid without which nothing on our earth would live. Ô is therefore a link through art between humans and life in general, which the ensemble embodies through accessible, sensitive programs open to all.

Laetitia Corcelle, soprano and conductor
After serving as musical director of the vocal ensemble La Sportelle from 2017 to January 2024, she founded the ensemble Ô with the same singers to continue developing her approach as a link between classical music and audiences. She sings in various ensembles, covering all levels of the classical vocal repertoire, from large symphonic choirs to solo works. Passionate about melodies, she performs in recitals with the Girard Quartet and in duos with pianist François Cornu. She also sings regularly in Gildas Pungier's Mélisme(s) ensemble (Rennes) and Jean-Philippe Billmann's Exosphère ensemble (Strasbourg). For 15 years, she has been involved in teaching music to amateurs through workshops and choral courses. She draws on her dual training in literature at the Sorbonne and in operatic singing and chamber music at the Strasbourg Conservatory.
