Carlo Tessarini, born in Rimini in 1690, was an Italian violinist and composer. Little is known about his early life, but he may have studied music in Venice, possibly under Antonio Vivaldi. From 1716 to 1729, Tessarini served as the director of music at the Hospice of Saints John and Paul in Venice. He also held positions at the Basilica of Saint Mark and the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament in Urbino. His virtuosity on the violin earned him a widespread reputation across Europe. From 1738 to 1742, he was the Master of the Chapel and Director of Concerts for Cardinal Schrattenbach in Brno. His travels took him through Paris, Brussels, Nijmegen, Groningen, and Frankfurt. Notable works include Op. 1 12 Sonata a violino e basso and Op. 4 6 Trattimenti a violino e basso.
