Éric Greff was born in Forbach, Alsace, on July 19, 1975. At the age of 34, he scored a huge hit with the parody song "Ça m'énerve" under the pseudonym Helmut Fritz. Number one in singles sales in France, the track sold over 500,000 copies and earned him a nomination at the Victoires de la Musique awards in the "Original Song of the Year" category. After a few more singles as Helmut (no longer under the Fritz moniker), Éric Greff disappeared from the public eye for a couple of years, until he made a comeback under the name Geronimo, releasing "Possédés" in 2015. This skilfully blends pop and electro, dares to use Native American percussion and manages to impose its effective chorus on the charts and radio airwaves.
