Tobi Hofmann, born on August 30, 1973, in Munich, Germany, is a jazz trumpeter. He began his musical journey as a member of the Tölzer Knabenchor from 1979 to 1984, receiving early piano instruction alongside his choral duties. Hofmann later expanded his skills by studying percussion and trumpet, eventually forming a big band in 1994 which he led for two years. He pursued composition studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory under Rob Pronk from 1996 to 1998. In 2005, Tobi Hofmann released the albums Inside - Improvisations in the Reactor and Swip Swap. His subsequent releases include Easy (2007), water:gone - Improvisations in the Munich sewer system (2008), and The Little Things (2010). Tobi Hofmann's work also extended beyond music, encompassing acting and directing roles at various theaters including the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and the Stadttheater Ingolstadt.
