Foreign Legion, a punk rock band from South Wales, formed in 1984. The group released their first EP Trenchline in 1986 under their own Rent a Racket label. In 1998, they released their EP Surf City, following it with their debut full-length album Welcome to Fort Zinderneuf the next year. The band played notable shows at the 100 Club and supported acts like UK Subs and Joe Strummer & the Latino Rockabilly War before disbanding in 1991. Foreign Legion reformed in 2000, releasing their next full-length album What Goes Around Comes Around produced by Mick Jones of The Clash in 2002. They continued to tour extensively across Europe and the USA, collaborating with bands like Dropkick Murphys and Agnostic Front. In 2007, they released Death Valley, featuring reworked versions of older material. Mark Howells, the band's vocalist, passed away in June 2023.
