Dioramic, a German progressive rock group from Kaiserslautern, was formed in 2002. The band gained early traction by performing concerts and winning local contests between 2002 and 2004. In November 2004, Dioramic recorded their first EP and won the Local Heroes Bandcontest. Their debut album, Phase of Perplexity, was self-released on April 16, 2005, under the independent label Daddykate. The band supported the Southside Festival in the same year. In January 2010, their second album, Technicolor, produced by Kurt Ebelhäuser, was released on Lifeforce Records and received critical acclaim from publications like Visions and Musikreviews.de. After members Anton Zaslavski (Zedd) and Jochen Müller left in March 2012, Dioramic reformed with new members, including Paul Seidel as a permanent member in May 2013. Their third album, Supra, was released in September 2014 via Pelagic Records following a successful crowdfunding campaign.
