Jehan İstiklal Barbur, born on April 12, 1980 in Beirut, Lebanon, is a Turkish singer of Arab Christian descent. She spent her childhood in İskenderun and later moved to Ankara for university studies at Bilkent University. After graduating in 2002, she relocated to Istanbul to pursue a professional music career. Initially working as a vocalist in various pop and jazz groups, Barbur's breakthrough came when she signed with Ada Müzik following the support of Bülent Ortaçgil. Her debut studio album Uyan was released in 2009, featuring hits like "Gidersen", "Leyla" and "Neden". Subsequent albums include Hayat (2010), Sarı (2012), Sizler Hiç Yokken (2014) and Evim Neresi (2017). Barbur has also contributed to TV series soundtracks, including Asi and Sır Gibi. Her collaborations include works with artists such as Özgür Çevik and Zuhal Olcay.
