Münir Nurettin Selçuk, born in 1900 in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul within the Ottoman Empire, was a Turkish classical musician and tenor singer. As a youth, he studied music in Hungary before returning to Turkey. In 1927, he traveled to Paris for further musical education. During his career, he appeared in several films, including Kahveci Güzeli (1941), Hasret (1944), and Üçüncü Selim'in Gözdesi (1950). He began working at the Istanbul Conservatory in 1953, eventually serving as its director for sixteen years. One of his most significant contributions was establishing the position of lead singer in Turkish music. Selçuk passed away on April 27, 1981.
