Stellamara, a world music group from the United States of America, was formed in 1994 by Sonja Drakulich and Gari Hegedus. Stellamara is known for its electro-acoustic ensembles with oriental melodies and dramatic orchestral sections, drawing inspiration from traditional music of the Near East, Eastern Europe, Arabic, and Persian cultures. Their debut album, Star Of The Sea, was released in 1997. In 2004, they released their second studio album, The Seven Valleys. Five years later, Stellamara followed up with The Golden Thread in 2009, featuring Ross Daly and Kelly Thoma. The group features musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Evan Fraser on percussion and vocals, Sean Tergis on percussion, and Dan Cantrell on accordion and keyboards.
