Mastedon, an American Christian rock band formed in the mid-1980s, was created by brothers Dino and John Elefante. The band initially functioned primarily as a studio project and released their debut album It's A Jungle Out There in 1989. In 2009, Mastedon signed with Italian label Frontiers Records and released the album 3. This was followed by Revolution Of Mind, which was released under the name John Elefante and Mastedon in North America. The band's song "Wasn't It Love" was featured in the 1987 compilation California Metal. In the following year, their song "Get Up" appeared on California Metal II.
