Antonia Hernández Peralta, known professionally as Perlita de Huelva, was born on February 27, 1939, in Huelva, Spain. She began her singing career in the 1950s, performing with her brother. Her breakthrough came in 1961 when she released her first album after winning 20,000 pesetas from a lottery prize. Perlita de Huelva achieved significant success with "Amigo conductor" (1969), earning a Gold Disc in 1975 and a Platinum Disc in 1990. Throughout her career, she collaborated with notable artists such as Juanito Valderrama and Manolo Escobar. She released numerous albums, including Seleccion de éxitos de Perlita de Huelva (2005). In January 2024, she received the Medalla de Huelva al arte from Pilar Miranda Plata, the mayor of Huelva.
