La Fanfare en pétard, often referred to as FEP, is a French multi-genre group formed in 2001 within the halls of the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. They initially gained traction with their debut album Shake Your Ass, Drei de oarsch, bouge ton cul (2004). A significant breakthrough came in 2005 when Philippe "Gaston" Rieger joined as a vocalist and alto saxophone player, enhancing their diverse musical influences. La Fanfare en pétard embarked on extensive tours across France and Europe from 2007 onwards, performing at various street festivals. Their second album Crame la mèche (2009) featured collaborations with notable artists such as Papet J of Massilia Sound System and DJ Nelson. In 2013, they released their fourth album Le Monde est curieux, which featured the song "Noir comme l’or".
