Folque, a Norwegian folk-rock band from Oslo, was formed in 1972 as Brød og vin. They changed their name to Folque in 1973 and performed their first concert under that name on April 30, 1973 at Château Neuf. Inspired by traditional Norwegian folk music, they blended it with contemporary rhythms and instruments. Their debut album, Folque, was released in 1974. Notable members included Morten Bing, who remained throughout the band's career, and Lars Helljesen, who joined in 1975. The group was active from 1973 to 1984, with reunion concerts in the 1990s and 2000s, and a final reforming period from 2014 until their last concert on April 29, 2017 at Rockheim in Trondheim.
