Backstreet Girls, a Norwegian rock band formed in 1984 with Petter Baarli on guitar and Pål Kristensen on bass. Their debut album, Mental Shakedown, was released in 1986 under Medicine Records. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Backstreet Girls released several albums, including Boogie Till You Puke (1988), Party On Elm Street (1989), and Coming Down Hard (1990). They later signed with Warner Music for their album Let's Have It, released in 1992. The band faced numerous lineup changes over the years. They released their first compilation album, Boogie Till You Bleed, in 2000 and continued to tour extensively. Backstreet Girls' discography includes notable albums such as Hellway To High (1999), Tuff Tuff Tuff (2001), and Don't Mess With My Rock'n'Roll (2017). Frontman Bjørn Müller passed away on November 18, 2024. The band was inducted into the Rockheim Hall of Fame in 2023 and their songs have been nominated multiple times for the Spellemannprisen in the rock category.
