Bernardo Moreira, born July 23, 1965, in Lisbon, Portugal, is a jazz musician. He began studying contrabass at age 16 under tutors including Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Rufus Reid. In the late 1980s, Moreira performed with notable musicians like Eddie Henderson and Norman Simmons. He gained international recognition through performances at festivals such as the Lisbon Jazz Festival in 1991. Throughout his career, Moreira has toured extensively, including collaborations with Mário Laginha, Julian Argüelles, and Steve Nelson. Notable albums include Tudo muda (1998) and Ao Paredes Confesso (2003). He also accompanied Cristina Branco on tours and received the Prémio Carlos Paredes in 2022 for his album Entre Paredes (2021).
