John Anthony David Sloman, also known as John Solman, was born on April 26, 1957, in Cardiff, Wales, and is a rock singer. He began his career with local Cardiff act Trapper before joining Lone Star in time for their 1977 album Firing on All Six. In 1979, he joined Uriah Heep, recording the album Conquest and remaining until 1981 due to musical differences. He briefly recorded with UFO and Gary Moore's band, contributing to albums such as The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent and Rockin' Every Night: Live in Japan. He released his first solo album, Disappearances Can Be Deceptive, in 1989, produced by Todd Rundgren. Throughout the 1990s and beyond, he recorded several more albums, including Dark Matter (2003) and El Dorado (2018). He also collaborated with various artists such as Praying Mantis on their album The Journey Goes On. In 2022, he released the album Two Rivers, followed by Vaudeville in 2025.
