Meganoidi, an Italian rock band from Genoa, was formed in 1997. Their first release was the demo EP Supereroi vs Municipale. In 2001, Meganoidi released their debut album, Into the Darkness, Into the Moda, which featured influences of ska punk and punk rock. The single "King of Ska?" from this album became the theme for the TV program Le Iene. Following the G8 summit in Genoa, the band shifted to a more experimental alternative rock sound with their 2003 album Outside the Loop, Stupendo Sensation. In 2005, they released the progressive rock EP And Then We Met Impero, which featured influences from Pink Floyd. Their subsequent albums included Granvanoeli (2006), Al posto del fuoco (2009), Welcome in Disagio (2012), and Mescla (2020).
