Lars-Gunnar Bodin (born on July 15, 1935) was a Swedish composer and a pioneer of electronic music from Stockholm, particularly within the Scandinavian scene. Bodin studied classical music and traditional composition under Lennart Wenström before joining the art group Fylkingen in 1962. In 1967, Bodin and Bengt-Emil Johnson directed the Stockholm festivals of text-sound composition. Bodin served as the chairman of Fylkingen from 1969 to 1972. In 1972, Bodin visited the United States as a Composer in Residence at Mills College, California. He was appointed Director of the Electronic Music Studio (EMS) in Stockholm in 1979 and oversaw its relocation to the Munich Brewery. His work spanned instrumental theatre, text-sound composition, and multi-media, often incorporating phonetic elements and micro-level processes. His discography included the recordings Clouds and En Face. Bodin died in Gnesta on May 10, 2021.
