Dry Cell, a nu-metal and hard rock band from California, United States, was formed in 1998. The group initially consisted of guitarist Danny Hartwell and drummer Brandon Brown, who met at the "Ratt Show" on Sunset Strip. Singer Judd Gruenbaum joined later, and after gaining attention from Warner Brothers' A&R director Jeff Blue, they signed a record deal. Their debut album, Disconnected, was set for release in 2002 but faced delays and contractual issues, leading to its limited availability at the Locobazooka Festival. The band's single "Body Crumbles" appeared on the soundtracks of Queen of the Damned and the Madden NFL 2003 soundtrack. Following internal conflicts and lineup changes, Dry Cell disbanded in late 2005. The band reunited at the end of 2007, and they released their second album, The Dry Cell Collection (2010), which included previously released material.
