Henryk Kuźniak, born on March 17, 1936, in Czeladź, Poland, is a film and television composer and musicologist. He graduated from the University of Warsaw with a degree in musicology in 1959 and worked at the Documentary and Feature Film Studio in Warsaw for two decades. In 1968, Kuźniak studied experimental music under Pierre Schaeffer at ORTF in France. His breakthrough came in the 1980s with compositions for films such as Vabank (1981) and its sequel Vabank 2 (1984), directed by Juliusz Machulski.His notable albums include Vabank, Sexmission, and Other Polish Film Hits (1998), Co Jest Grane (2002), and Dzięcioł (2020). Kuźniak received the Badge of Honor for Merit to Polish Culture in 2005 and Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restitua in 2011.
