Jack Grunsky, born July 1, 1945, in Graz, Austria, is a Canadian singer and songwriter. He moved to Canada as an infant and began his singing career in high school in Toronto. In 1966, he formed the folk group Jack's Angels and signed to Amadeo Records of Vienna, Austria. After the group disbanded, Grunsky released three solo albums for the label, including "Toronto", produced by Alexis Korner and featuring Mick Taylor on slide guitar. He then joined Kuckuck Records in Munich, producing three more original albums. In 1974, he moved back to Canada and released The Patience of a Sailor independently with producer Chad Irschick in 1978. Grunsky transitioned into children's music in the early 1980s, releasing eleven recordings that earned him two Juno Awards for Best Children's Recording, for "Waves of Wonder" in 1993 and "Sing & Dance" in 2001.
