Nervecell was a death metal band from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, formed in 2000 by guitarist Barney Ribeiro. The group initially featured Brogan Costa on vocals and gained early recognition by winning the Battle of the Bands contest in Abu Dhabi in 2001. Following member changes, Rajeh James Khazaal on vocals and bass and Rami H. Mustafa on guitar solo joined. In late 2003, Nervecell released their first demo and subsequently produced their debut EP Human Chaos in 2004, which received international distribution. The band's breakthrough came with their participation in the Desert Rock Festival in Dubai in 2005 and a subsequent tour in Australia. In 2008, they released the album Preaching Venom, produced by the Wiwczarek brothers and mixed by Alan Douches, which was distributed across the Arab world, Africa, and later Europe through Lifeforce Records. Nervecell's subsequent albums included Psychogenocide in 2011 and Past, Present, Torture in 2017.
