John Hamilton Davidson is an American actor, singer, and game show host born on 13 December 1941 in Pittsburgh. He made his Broadway debut in the production of Foxy (1964) and appeared as Matt in the television film The Fantasticks (1964). In 1966, he began hosting variety programs such as The Kraft Summer Music Hall and signed with Columbia Records. Davidson released twelve albums between 1966 and 1976, including The Time of My Life! (1966), which reached number 19 on the Billboard 200, and A Kind of Hush (1967). He made his film debut in The Happiest Millionaire (1967) and starred in the situation comedy The Girl with Something Extra (1973). During the 1980s, he co-hosted the series That's Incredible! (1980) and hosted a revival of Hollywood Squares (1986). He appeared in the film Edward Scissorhands (1990) and hosted a revival of The $100,000 Pyramid (1991). Davidson later returned to the stage in productions like Ragtime (1999) and the off-Broadway revival of The Fantasticks (2012).
