Aija Kukule is a Latvian singer born on 1 October 1956 in Rēzekne. She achieved professional recognition at the 1981 Mikrofona aptauja performing alongside Līga Kreicberga. They performed the track “Dāvāja Māriņa meitenei mūžiņu” (1981), which achieved popularity across the Soviet Union and was later covered by artists including Alla Pugacheva. Her recording career includes the studio recording Naktsputni (1978) with the ensemble Modo and the eponymous extended play Dzied Aija Kukule (1980). In 1993, she received the Grand Music Award for her contributions to Latvian music. Her discography includes the studio recording Dzied Aija Kukule un "Dzeguzīte" (1985) and the compilation Labākās dziesmas (2005).
