Judy Boucher, born in St. Vincent in the Caribbean, is a singer known for her contributions to reggae and R&B music. She began her musical journey as part of her brother's band, Judy Jack and the Beanstalk. In 1985, Judy Boucher recorded several songs written by Felix Da Silva, including "Dreaming of a Little Island", which topped the reggae charts and was used as the Jamaica Tourist Board's theme tune. Her breakthrough came with the release of her album Can't Be With You Tonight in 1987, featuring the international hit single "Can't Be with You Tonight", which peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also gained popularity in several European countries and the Philippines. Judy Boucher's follow-up single, "You Caught My Eye", reached number 18 in the UK. She embarked on tours across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, including a notable performance in Belgium where she sang to an audience of 40,000 people with lighted candles. Despite being unable to perform in South Africa due to the boycott at the time, Judy Boucher toured neighboring countries like Swaziland and Namibia. In recognition of her achievements, she was invited by the government of St. Vincent as their special guest of honor and remains an ambassador for her country. She holds the record for being the first female from the Caribbean to have the longest stay in the national charts with fourteen weeks in 1987. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, she continued performing and recording, releasing albums like Take Your Memory with You (1998), New Way to Say Love (2001), Not This Time (2003), and Sunshine and Dreams (2007)
