José Miranda Quiñónez, known as Pepe Miranda, born on June 9, 1941, in Peru, was a Peruvian New Wave singer. He started his musical career with the quartet Los Kits Kats and rose to fame after winning the Buscando al Ídolo de la Nueva Ola contest in 1963, securing a contract with El Virrey Records. He released albums, such as Canciones Y Más Canciones (1964) and El Rey De La Simpatia (1965). Her success led to extensive tours across America and Spain. He authored notable songs such as "El mar y yo", "Mi pueblo", "Indio con i", and "Vivirás". Additionally, he ventured into acting, appearing in films like Ganarás el pan (1964) and En la selva no hay estrellas (1967). He passed away on February 9, 2022.
