Sudha Ragunathan, born Sudha Venkatraman on April 30, 1957 in Chennai, India, is a Carnatic vocalist and playback singer. She began her musical training at age three under her mother V. Choodamani, later studying under B.V. Lakshman and Dr. M.L. Vasantha Kumari. Ragunathan gained recognition for her playback singing in Tamil cinema, notably with the song "Enna Enna Sethai" from the film Ivan. She has performed at prestigious venues worldwide, including the United Nations and Théâtre de la Ville in Paris. Her notable awards include the Kalaimamani award (1993), Padma Shri (2004), Sangita Kalanidhi (2013), and Padma Bhushan (2015). She has also been honored with a stamp by the United Nations in 2016. Ragunathan continues to teach Carnatic music through her Sudhaarnava Academy for Musical Excellence, established in 2017.
