Torture Killer, a Finnish death metal band from Turku, was formed in 2002. Initially a cover band for Six Feet Under, Torture Killer began composing original tracks and released their debut album For Maggots to Devour in 2003. The group's lineup included Jari Laine and Tuomas Karppinen on guitars, Kim Torniainen on bass, Tuomo Latvala on drums, and Pessi Haltsonen as the vocalist. In November 2005, Chris Barnes of Six Feet Under joined Torture Killer for the recording of their second album Swarm!, released in 2006. Barnes left the band in January 2008 but continued to collaborate on subsequent projects. Their third album, Sewers, released in 2009, peaked at number 14 on the Finnish charts. In June 2022, Torture Killer announced their EP Dead Inside, which was released on July 29 of that year.
