Will Champlin, born William Christopher Champlin on 24 April 1983 in Los Angeles, California, is an American singer‑songwriter who first gained public attention through songwriting collaborations, including backing vocals for Ace Young and piano work on Michael Jackson’s posthumous compilation Michael. After graduating from the Berklee College of Music, he released his debut studio album on 10 January 2008 under Goldmine Records, followed by the independent release The Complete Season 5 Collection (The Voice Performance) on 21 June 2014. Champlin’s breakthrough came as a contestant on Season 5 of NBC’s The Voice, where he joined Adam Levine’s team, performed "Not Over You" during the blind auditions, and ultimately finished third in the competition held in 2013. His career continued with songwriting credits for Heather Headley’s Grammy‑winning album Audience of One (2010) and collaborations with artists such as Michael Caruso. In 2018 he became the lead vocalist of the rock band Valley of Wolves, releasing the debut album Out for Blood, followed by Take it All in 2019 and Outlaws in 2021. Champlin’s work has been noted for its blend of pop‑rock sensibilities and soulful vocal delivery, with several tracks receiving airplay on contemporary radio stations across the United States.
