Melt-Banana is a Japanese noise rock band from Tokyo, Japan, formed in 1992 by vocalist Yasuko Onuki, guitarist Ichiro Agata, bassist Rika Hamamoto, and drummer Sudoh Toshiaki. Melt-Banana gained international recognition after a Peel Session in 1999, described by John Peel as "one of the most extraordinary performances I have ever seen and ever heard." Their lineup released notable albums such as Speak Squeak Creak (1994), Scratch or Stitch (1995), Charlie (1998), Teeny Shiny (2000), and Bambi's Dilemma (2007). In 2013, Melt-Banana transitioned to a duo format with Onuki and Agata, releasing the album Fetch (2013). The studio album 3+5 (2024) was released subsequently.
