David Handler (born July 24, 1980) is a composer, violinist/violist, and entrepreneur. His acoustic and electronic compositions have been described by The New York Times as “eerie” and “superbly wrought,” “exploring polarities of light and dark, the sacred and the profane.” He is the founder and owner of (Le) Poisson Rouge as well as the founder and co-artistic director of Ensemble LPR, for which the New Yorker referred to him as “the Ian Schrager of the music scene.” Handler’s speaking engagements include Lincoln Center, New York University, and Johns Hopkins University, and he sits on the boards of CavanKerry Press and the David Lynch Foundation. He is a citizen of the United States and Ireland; he lives in Brooklyn, NY.
