Pål Flåta, born April 8, 1968 in Skien, Norway, is a Norwegian vocalist. He started his career with Memphis News and later formed Paal & Pål Band. In the early 1990s, Flåta moved to Oslo and formed the Hashbrowns, which became Midnight Choir. With Midnight Choir, Flåta released five albums before the band dissolved in 2004. His solo career began with In Demand (2002), followed by Rain (2005) and Christmas Island (2006). Flåta's album "Wait by the Fire" (2012) was nominated for the Spellemannprisen 2012 in the Country category. He has released a trilogy of albums featuring songs by American songwriters: "Wait By The Fire – Songs of Chip Taylor" (2012), "Bless Us All – Songs of Mickey Newbury" (2014), and "Come Tomorrow – Songs of Townes Van Zandt" (2016). He has also collaborated with Stephen Ackles and Vidar Bush.
