October Country was an American folk rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1967. The group consisted of siblings Caryle and Joe DeFranca on vocals, who began singing in church choirs before moving to Los Angeles. They recruited additional members and performed at local dances. In 1967, the band signed to Epic Records after a demo film impressed company president Len Levy. Their debut single "October Country" was produced by Michael Lloyd, who also composed the tracks on their self-titled album October Country, released in 1968. The album featured the song "My Girlfriend Is a Witch", which received radio play in Los Angeles. October Country disbanded later that year.
