La Gigi is the stage name of Angélica Núñez Gutiérrez, a Dominican singer and influencer from Santo Domingo who built her career at the intersection of dembow and urbano latino after first gaining visibility on social media and reality formats linked to the Alofoke media ecosystem. Early on she attracted attention online as La Gigi, sharing clips and interviews that led to invitations to shows like La Casa de Alofoke and, eventually, to a music-focused push where she presented herself as Angélica, a young artist from the streets and nightlife of Santo Domingo. Her recording career took shape in October 2021 with the explicit dembow single “Metemelo,” released independently and credited to songwriter Angélica Gutiérrez, marking her transition from viral personality to recording artist rooted in Latin urban sounds. After a quieter period in 2022–2023, she returned with a more structured release plan in 2025, aligning with Alofoke Music and the Dominican dembow circuit and issuing a wave of collaborative singles. Tracks like “cuereria” featuring Masha and “Rapida me tiene tu” with Zojo rd positioned La Gigi as both lead vocalist and co-writer, while linking her with figures such as Masha, Zojo RD and producer Puyalo Pantera. That same year she appeared on “Pica Pollo,” “Dame Pelo,” “Digi,” “Al Paso (Zunna Remix)” and “No Quiero Pizza (Zunna Remix),” building a catalog that revolved around nightlife, desire and street language and reinforcing her image as a controversial but magnetic presence in the dembow scene. Her major breakout came with “Siempre la más (Remix),” a 2025 single by Alofoke Music that united La Gigi with Yailin la Mas Viral and Ceky Viciny.
