Rob Hubbard, born in 1955 in Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom, is a British composer. He began his career as a professional musician and started learning BASIC programming on a Commodore 64 in the early 1980s. Initially developing educational programs, Hubbard's breakthrough came when he received positive feedback from Gremlin Graphics for the music in his programs, leading him to specialize in game music composition. His innovative use of the SID chip on the Commodore 64 revolutionized chiptune music, with notable works including "Thing on a Spring" (1985) and "Commando" (1985). In 1988, he joined Electronic Arts, where he became their first employee dedicated solely to music. His discography included albums like Real C64 Dual Mono Recordings Vol. 1 (2015) and Commodore 64 Sid Anthology, Vol. 1 (2020).
