Dome were a British post-punk duo from London that formed in 1980. The ensemble was founded by the musicians Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewis and are famous for their experimental sound that abandoned traditional song structures and for being a side project of members of the group Wire. The pair launched the project during Wire's hiatus between 1980 and 1984 and achieved professional recognition through a prolific series of recordings on their own label. Their discography includes the debut studio recording Dome (1980), followed by Dome 2 (1980), Dome 3 (1981), and Will You Speak This Word (1982). They also released material under the monikers Cupol and Duet Emmo, the latter featuring the Mute Records founder Daniel Miller. Following Wire’s reformation in 1984, the duo recorded occasionally, with their work later compiled on the recordings Yclept (1999) and 1-4+5 (2011).
