Tim van Eyken (born 7 March 1978) is an English folk singer, melodeon player, guitarist, and actor from England. Van Eyken began playing the penny whistle before learning the melodeon to perform for the Beetlecrushers clog dance team. In 1998, Van Eyken won the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. He was a member of the group Dr Faustus and joined Waterson–Carthy in 2000, performing with the group until 2007. Van Eyken’s own ensemble, Van Eyken, featured Nancy Kerr, Olly Knight, Colin Fletcher, and Pete Flood. The group’s version of the song “John Barleycorn” won the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Traditional Track in 2007. His solo discography featured the albums New Boots (1998) and Stiffs Lovers Holymen Thieves (2006), as well as One Sunday Afternoon (2001) with Robert Harbron. In 2008, Van Eyken performed in the National Theatre production of War Horse.
