Slavic Soul Party!, an American-Balkan brass/jazz band, was formed in 1999. The group is known for its eclectic blend of Balkan brass, Dixieland, New Orleans Second Line, funk, klezmer, and Roma music. Their debut album In Makedonija was released in 2002 on Knitting Factory Works. This was followed by Bigger, released in 2005 on Barbès Records. The band gained significant attention performing at major festivals such as Chicago's 14th annual World Music Festival in 2012, and opened for acts like Arcade Fire and Dresden Dolls. Their subsequent albums include Teknochek Collision (2007), Taketron (2009), New York Underground Tapes (2012), and Plays Duke Ellington's Far East Suite (2016). The band has featured a rotating lineup of musicians, including Matt Moran as the bandleader.
