Varsovie is a French rock band from Grenoble, formed in 2005 by Arnault Destal and Grégory Cathérina. The duo released their first demo, Some Days, in 2005, followed by the EP Neuf millimètres in 2006. Their first studio album, État civil, was recorded at Drudenhaus Studio in Nantes and released in 2009 on the Infrastition label. The band gained recognition through European tours and festival appearances, including the Drop Dead Festival in Prague in 2007. Later albums include L'Heure et la trajectoire (2014), Coups et blessures (2018), L’Ombre et la nuit (2021), and Pression à froid (2023). Varsovie’s music combines darkwave and post-punk influences, with lyrics often addressing historical crises and marginalized artists.
