National Skyline was an American alternative rock band formed in late 1996 by Jeff Dimpsey. The group initially consisted of a rotating cast of prominent Champaign/Chicago area musicians and was created to perform a single 45-minute-long song written by Dimpsey. Their debut album, National Skyline, was released on April 4, 2000, followed by the EP Exit Now in March 2001 and the full-length album This = Everything in April 2001. The band is known for their elaborate light shows at concerts and distinctive cover art designed by Ohio Girl Design. Notable songs include "Karolina" from their self-titled album and its extended version, "Karolina II", from Exit Now. James Minor joined as a touring guitarist in 2000, becoming an official member before the recording of This = Everything. National Skyline disbanded on September 2, 2007.
