Plummet Airlines was a British pub rock band formed in 1973 in Nottingham by students from Nottingham School of Art. Initially called The Brothel Creepers, they began performing live and writing original songs after completing a film project. In 1974, Duncan Kerr joined on guitar/vocals, and they changed their name to Glider, later becoming Plummet Airlines due to a naming conflict. Their first Peel Session in August 1976 led to the release of their debut single "Silver Shirt/This is the World" on Stiff Records. In January 1977, they released their second single "It's Hard/My Time in a While" on State Records. The band supported notable acts but disbanded in 1977 due to creative differences amidst the rise of punk rock. Post-breakup, former members joined bands such as Darts and The Pogues.
