Randy Waldman, born September 8, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, is an American pianist, arranger, composer, and conductor. He began playing piano at age five and started his professional career at 21 as the pianist for Frank Sinatra's tour. Waldman then moved to Los Angeles, working with artists like Minnie Riperton, Lou Rawls, Paul Anka, and George Benson. His session career in Los Angeles spanned over four decades, contributing to numerous albums and soundtracks including Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, and Titanic. Waldman won Grammy Awards in 1985 for his arrangement of "Somewhere" from Barbra Streisand’s album The Broadway Album and in 2019 for his arrangement of "Spiderman Theme" on his album Superheroes.
