Elvira Nikolaisen is a Norwegian singer and pianist born on July 16, 1980, in Moi. She originated from a musical family and founded the ensemble Royal with her brother Emil in 1998. The group released the studio recording My Dear in 1998. Nikolaisen rejected her Christian faith at age 18, a transition she addressed in her lyrics. She released her debut solo recording Quiet Exit in 2006, which reached number 2 on the Norwegian charts. The album featured the recordings “Egypt Song” and “Love I Can't Defend”. She collaborated with Bjørn Eidsvåg on the track “Floden” for his 2006 album Nåde. Her discography included the studio recordings Indian Summer (2008), Lighthouse (2011), and I Concentrate on You (2013), the latter featuring jazz musician Mathias Eick.
