Shiva's Headband is an American psychedelic rock band from Austin, Texas, that formed in 1967. The ensemble was established by the fiddler Spencer Perskin and his wife Susan alongside the keyboardist Shawn Siegel, the guitarists Kenny Parker and Bob Tom Reed, and the drummer Jerry Barnett. They served as the house band at the Vulcan Gas Company and participated in the founding of the Armadillo World Headquarters. Their debut studio album, Take Me to the Mountains (1969), was the first recording released nationally by an Austin-based rock band. The ensemble appeared in the film The Thief Who Came to Dinner (1973). Their discography includes the studio recordings Coming to a Head (1971), Psychedelic Yesterday (1977), and In the Primo of Life (1983). The group performs under the name Shiva's Headband Experience.
