Hanna Hartman, born on October 27, 1961, in Uppsala, Sweden, was a Swedish composer and sound artist. She studied literature and theater science at Stockholm University, followed by interactive media and electro-acoustic music. Hartman began her career as a freelancer for radio stations in 1991. Her compositions were featured at notable festivals including the Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik (2006) and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (2013, 2016, 2017, 2018). From 2005 to 2015, she was a member of the collective sound art quintet Les Femmes Savantes. Hartman's work often incorporated field recordings and everyday sounds. She received the Prix Europa in 1998 for Geräusche des Monats and the Karl-Sczuka-Preis in 2005 for the piece "Att fälla grova träd är förknippat med risker". Her notable works included Cikoria. Eine Reise. Ein Jahr (1999) and the album Ailanthus (2007).
