Aluna Sagita Gutawa, known professionally as Gita Gutawa, was born in 1993 in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is a singer and songwriter, and the daughter of composer Erwin Gutawa. Initially trained in piano, she later focused on vocals. In 2004, while practicing her singing, she was discovered by the manager of ADA Band and invited to sing a duet with them titled "Yang Terbaik Bagimu". This collaboration led to her debut self-titled album Gita Gutawa in 2007. The album sold 150,000 copies within four months and was certified triple platinum. In 2008, she won the Sixth International Nile Children Song Festival in Cairo with the song "To Be One". Her subsequent albums include Harmoni Cinta (2009) and the Islamic religious album Balada Shalawat (2010).
