Company of Strangers is an Australian pop rock group formed in late 1991 by Simon Hussey. The studio project featured Daryl Braithwaite on vocals, Simon Hussey on keyboards, drums, engineering and production, Jef Scott on guitar and vocals, and James Reyne on vocals and guitar. Their debut single "Motor City (I Get Lost)" was released in July 1992, followed by the album Company of Strangers in December 1992 via Sony Music Australia. The self-titled album peaked at number 9 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified gold in 1993. Their subsequent singles included "Sweet Love" (November 1992), "Daddy's Gonna Make You a Star" (January 1993), and a cover version of the Beatles' "Baby, You're a Rich Man" (June 1993). Both "Motor City" and "Sweet Love" reached the ARIA Singles Chart top 30. The group received multiple nominations at the ARIA Music Awards of 1993 for Breakthrough Artist - Album and Single categories, while Simon Hussey won Producer of the Year for his work on several tracks. Despite their early success, Company of Strangers disbanded shortly after the release of their debut album.
