Rhythm Heritage were a 1970s Los Angeles studio group formed by producer Steve Barri and keyboard player Michael Omartian. The band burned brightly for a very brief period of time enjoying major chart success with two well known TV themes. Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow was sung by Sammy Davis Jnr. and used as the theme music for the popular US detective series Baretta and the Theme From S.W.A.T. topped the charts in 1975 and crossed over into the R&B charts reaching number eleven. With four studio albums released in a three year period the band had a run of success which saw a number of their other songs and tunes used within the TV and film industry. As well as drummer Ed Greene and bass player Scott Edwards, Rhythm Heritage relied on a variety of A list session players such as Ray Parker Jnr., Victor Feldman and James Jamerson to help create their distinctively catchy disco funk sound.
