Intwine was a Dutch rock band formed in 2001 in Tilburg by students of the Rockacademie, including Aruban vocalist Roger Peterson. The group gained national recognition in 2002 when Peterson participated in the talent show Idols. Their debut single, “Happy?”, was released in February 2003 and reached number 3 on the Dutch Top 40. The ensemble followed this with their self-titled debut album, Intwine, in October 2003. In 2004, the band released the album Perfect, featuring the single “Cruel Man”, which reached number 7 in the Netherlands and Number 1 on the Turkish charts. Intwine issued the darker-themed album Pyrrhic Victory in 2006, followed by the acoustic tour The Rumshop Sessions in 2007. After signing with Tiefdruck-Musik, the band released their first international studio album, Kingdom of Contradiction, in August 2009. Intwine officially announced their breakup through their website on October 16, 2010.
